Artist's Statement:

Judy is a signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society and an active participant in juried shows throughout Vermont and New England.  She has received several awards for her work.

I have experimented with and enjoy various media, but I especially enjoy the spontaneity and versatility of watercolor.

The world, my observations, my imagination, and the resulting stored images combined with my love for experimentation provide me with a constant source of subject matter and inspiration.  I enjoy working with the figure as well as working in the abstract and sometimes there is a meeting of the two.  My non-traditional approach to watercolor results in the use of highly saturated colors, narrative, intricate patterns, line and geometric shapes.  This is also conducive to painting in the abstract which I also enjoy.

While my inspiration can come from anywhere, I am always inspired by that blank piece of paper and the anticipation of where the process leads me.
