Born in Montreal, Quebec Canada, I now
live in Vermont with my husband Jack
and a nutty jack Russell Terrier named
Denali. Our five children have all flown
the coop and are leading their own
interesting lives with their families.
Art has always been
an important part of my life. My medium
is watercolor which has always intrigued
me. I am best known for my animal and
children portraits, but I also paint flowers
and landscapes. Animals have been my
subjects for years, I will paint almost
anything, and have, from dogs and cats
to horses, goats and cows. We all love
our animals because of their love and
loyalty towards us. I try to show this love
in my paintings.
My
art training began when I attended
Parsons School of Design in New York
City, many years ago. It was there that I
studied watercolor rendering of rooms,
wood and fabric. While living in New York
I met my future husband Jack, we
married and moved to Montreal. Time
flew as I raised five children. We moved
to Vermont in the mid 60's. I have
continued my education by taking
workshops with well known artists such
as Zoltan Szabo. One of these workshops
was held in St. Abbs Scotland; what a
great excuse for a trip to Scotland!!

Getting to know my
subject is the most important step in
creating a portrait. All my portraits are
done from photographs and whenever
possible I like to take those photos
myself so I can get to know who it is I
will be painting.
