I mainly work in transparent watercolor but I also enjoy working in acrylics and pastels.
I am mostly interested in painting anything with character, people, animals, old vehicles and still life. Old worn objects that seem to have a story to tell attract me. I have created a series of paintings of old cars that have been left in the woods and fields near my home. Perhaps others see the personalities and past history of these cars as I do.
My goal is to create a work that tells a story about my subject and takes the viewer into that life, past and/or present.
My works have been on display in a variety of exhibits in VT. Some of these include the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT, the Hunter Gallery in Grafton, VT, the Green Mountain Fine Art Gallery in Stowe, VT, the Artisan’s Gallery in Waitsfield, VT, the Chaffee Arts Center in Rutland, VT and the Chandler Gallery in Randolph, VT.
I am a signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society and I am also a member of the Vermont Arts Council, the Bryan Memorial Gallery and the Northern Vermont Artist Association.
Although many of my works are in private homes, works can currently be seen in the Pediatric waiting room area at Gifford Medical Center, Randolph, VT.
I worked as a visual arts educator from 1989 until I retired to paint full time in 2008.
My studio’s name is “Arte di Luna Studio” at 892 Mason Road, Randolph, VT 05060.
Availability & Rates: I work mostly on commission and rates vary by size and complexity.
