Life in Vermont is beautiful, and for me a landscape painter, New England offers both joy and challenge with its infinite and varied subject matter throughout the seasons.
Since retiring in 2006, I have been busy painting the southern Vermont landscape with fellow artists in the area. I primarily work from my own digital pictures, but I take time for some plein air painting as well. My paintings are an interpretation of the places I visit and the vistas I capture around my home, garden and beyond.
I earned an art degree from Iowa State University and have taken several watercolor workshops from well-known and not-so-well-known watercolorists over the years. I feel my work is still evolving and I find the journey totally fulfilling.
Besides the Vermont Watercolor Society, my art affiliations include: the Southern Vermont Arts Center, the Keene Art Association and the Andover Artisans.
Recent exhibits include: the West River Gallery, Weston; Red Roof Fine Art Gallery, Enfield, NH; the Artisan's Gallery, Waitsfield, VT; the Hunter Gallery of Fine Art, Grafton; SVAC, Manchester; the Miller Art Gallery, Springfield; and the Claremont Opera House, Claremont, NH.
