The Vermont Watercolor Society was founded by a small group of painters in 1995. Today we are nearly 200 members strong and about to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We are dedicated to promoting the awareness and appreciation of watercolor to our membership of all levels of ability and to the community by providing opportunities and venues for participation, education, fellowship, and exhibitions.
Membership
We have two levels of membership. Associate Member is our entry level membership and is open to anyone living anywhere with an interest in watercolor. Signature Membership is achieved by being juried into three VWS juried shows within a five year period. This gives the member the privilege of using the VWS letters after their name. VWS Governance
We are a non-profit volunteer organization. We are governed by an eight member volunteer board of directors elected by the membership for a two year term renewable for two consecutive terms. Spiraling out from the board are special appointments and committees, all with the purpose of remaining true to our mission.
Communications
We do our best to keep our members informed and up to date on happenings in the Society. The majority of member communications are done electronically with a quarterly newsletter and updates as necessary. Visit our news archives
Happenings
We hold two member meetings a year, conduct 3-5 exhibits annually and run various workshops and special events. Check out calendar for upcoming happenings
Volunteering
We are growing because we are a member driven organization and we are thriving because of the personal commitment of our members to be involved and to participate in a volunteer capacity when they can. Check out our volunteer opportunities
