Artist Statement
I have been a full time painter for the past thirty years and have enjoyed a certain success as noted below. Just what an "artist's statement" is, beyond the chance to practice "artspeak" escapes me . I paint because of a compulsion to do so and because I enjoy it.
Voight paintings have hung in the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts; the National Museum and Corcoran Gallery in DC; the Orange County Museum, CA; The Springfield Museum of Fine Art and the George Walter Vincent Smith Museum, MA; American Watercolor, Audubon Artists and National Academy.
In New York, the Copley Society, Silvermine Guild, the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, and Connecticut Watercolor Society.
He has been given solo shows at The Laguna Beach Art Association, The White Gallery, Washington D.C.; Munson Gallery, New Haven CT; Munson Gallery, Chatham MA: George Walter Vincent Smith Museum, Scarborough Gallery, Chappaqua N. Y.; Intrepid Gallery, Wellesley MA; and Gallery Northstar, Grafton VT.
Represented currently by Northstar Galleries in Grafton, Manchester and Stratton Mountain, VT; Harbour Square Gallery, ME; Sharon Arts, N.H; Bryan Memorial Gallery, Jeffersonville VT; and Vermont Fine Art, Stowe VT.
